This session focuses on Getting On The Air!  Students will do some HT work and will have the opportunity to sit at a portable station to make some repeater contacts.

We need folks to bring their HTs and be control operators while the students practice making simplex contacts.  And we need a few folks to be control operators at the portable stations while they work repeater contacts.  No need to stand and present material.  I'll have que cards printed up.  All you need to do guide the students and be there as the control operator.

If you are available to help out this Saturday for one or both sessions, please let me know.

Thank you!

Re Demo: CalFire Air Attack Operations Review "Sand Box Training"

Jim - N6MED

"Sand Box" exercise: Cool!  Noteworthy is the tactical "radio" discipline. No BS. No long, drawn out traffic but rather direct to the point. No pleases, thank you's, codes, just plain language (yes, some fire terms meaningful to the FFs. Radio discipline to be emulated in our work providing public service support comms.
Jus' sayin'

For those of you that might be interested in communications... Here is a youTube video from Juan Browne in Grass Valley showing a recent joint agency training exercise in the Auburn area. It's only a simulation but because it involved PCSO, we could possible get involved with this type of operation. It's a good training so see how CalFire actually does aerial fire suppression from a training viewpoint.
