introduction to El Dorado County's Neighborhood Radio Watch program, Tuesday, Apr 13, 2021 @ 06:00 PM

Alan - W6WN

You're invited to an online introduction to El Dorado County's "Non Ham" Neighborhood Radio Watch program this Tuesday, Apr 13, 2021 06:00 PM Pacific Time (US and Canada). No radio needed! Here's the agenda:

6:00-6:30 PM - We'll explain the basics of how the Neighborhood Radio Watch program provides a backup method to communicate and get critical information when your phones, Internet or power is off. We'll also cover the program's expansion into other areas in the County before the start of this year's fire season.

6:30-6:45 PM - You'll get to listen in on the Oak Hill Area weekly, on-air Community Radio "Safety Net."

6:45-7:15 PM - You'll hear from Joe Perez, former Operations Manager of Sonoma County's Public Safety Consortium, about how he and his wife barely survived the 2017 Tubbs Fire. They escaped at the very last minute in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on their backs and one of their vehicles. You'll see what they returned to the next day. Joe will also comment on how a Neighborhood Radio Watch program might have given them them a few precious minutes of advance warning.

7:15 PM - Join us for a Neighborhood Radio Watch Q and A session afterwards.
